Mission

CNU as an institution is committed to meeting its mission as a pre-eminent liberal arts institution and will do so in a manner that promotes ecological, environmental and social sustainability. This involves all members—administration, faculty, staff and students—of the CNU community working to

• Incorporate environmental concerns as a significant priority in University decision making,
• Conserve natural resources and work to maintain environmental quality,
• Reduce solid waste stream by conservation and recycling,
• Research, develop and implement strategies to improve sustainability,
• Develop and offer community programs that will increase the community's awareness of sustainability options,
• Seek alternative practices and procedures to minimize negative impacts on the environment,
• Educate all constituencies to the importance of sustainability issues.
